Visitors to a Chinese zoo demanded a refund of their money when they discovered that the pandas in an enclosure were actually painted dogs.

When two of the animals at the Guangyuan site began to bark, visitors reportedly became suspicious. Two odd-looking animals with black ears, links, and dark circles around their eyes are shown in an online video, but they unmistakably resemble dogs.

The zoo claims that it did not mislead the public because the “rare and exotic” animals were identified as “panda dogs.”

In an interview with the local press, the zoo admitted that it had dyed two Chow Chows, a northern Chinese spitz dog breed known for its thick fur.Due of the breed’s lion-like mane, it is commonly depicted in Chinese literature and art.

In Chinese society, “”nobility and distinction”” are still represented by the well-known Giant Pandas and Chow Chows.

“”Bears”” have attracted media attention for reasons other than just being fake, according to certain claims.

Last year, a different Chinese zoo was forced to release a statement to make it clear that the Sun Bear that resided there was an actual animal and not a human dressed in costume.
