These days, the “old adage” that laughing is the best cure isn’t the only one. Humor is a temporary cure for any illness, according to scientists, physicians, mental health specialists, and patients themselves.

According to a number of studies, comedy fosters hope, and hope is especially important for those suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses.

Renowned novelist and writer Lori Hope used a very personal experience—her own cancer diagnosis—to develop a useful manual for those who wish to console and encourage a friend who has the disease but are at a loss for words. She wrote a book titled 20 Things People with Cancer Want You to Know after conducting in-depth interviews.

According to her, a recent poll of over 600 survivors revealed that the most common thing that cancer patients want others to know is, “I need to laugh – or just forget about cancer for a while.”

Consequently, Lori is creating a website to assist cancer sufferers in laughing, chuckling, chortling, and giggling.

She needs our assistance as she begins to assemble a list of funny resources. Would you kindly add your finest suggestions to the collection of humorous films, jokes, and links to cartoons or videos? The goal is to make people “laugh or forget for a while.”
