It was evident from the moment Felix the dog and Cinnamon the goat arrived at Wake County Animal Hospital that they had a unique bond. The employees of the shelter found that the two were inseparable after receiving a drop-off from animal control following their owner’s hospitalization.

The head of animal care, Jennifer Federico, told the Washington Post, “We tried to separate Cinnamon from Felix, but she was very distressed.” She was yapping for the dog and bleating. It was evident that they had to remain together.

The shelter normally doesn’t take in farm animals, but for this particular couple, they made an exception. After ten days, the shelter assumed full responsibility for Felix and Cinnamon as a bonded pair and started looking for a new home after the prior owner failed to come back for them.

With the exception of mealtimes, Felix, an American bulldog mix, and Cinnamon were together all the time at the shelter. Cinnamon would take her meals next to Felix to keep his enormous bulldog tongue from peeping in. Cinnamon detests being apart from Felix. Even though they are a strange match, their friendship is ideal.

Federico remarked, “It’s an odd pair, but they obviously have a strong bond.” “Who are we to keep them apart? It is clear that they are in love.

After the shelter posted on Facebook about the unusual circumstances of the two, several offers from prospective adopters who had the space and resources to take in this rare pair came in.
