ohn, a female cat, was discovered with her head sticking out of a pipe; firefighters had to come and get her.
Firefighters had to rescue a feline that became trapped in a drainpipe while trying to get through.
John, a black female cat, was discovered in Clevedon, North Somerset, with her head sticking out of a pipe that led to a garage.
The cat was rescued by firefighters at 9:55 a.m. on Saturday using small equipment. Then, she was escorted to a nearby vet, where the remaining pipe was removed.
According to a Facebook post from Clevedon Fire Station, the feline did not sustain any major injuries.
“John (yes, John) the cat had gotten [sic] herself (yes, John is a girl; it’s a long story) stuck in a garage drainpipe from the inside of the garage,” according to them.
John was removed by the crew using ladders and tiny tools. Eliminating a portion of the pipe while John was still in place was the most convenient and painless solution.
John was “cuddled and pampered” before being reunited with her “relieved owner,” according to Vets4Pets Clevedon, whose statement was shared by the fire station.
They went on to say that the cat was anesthetized and given oxygen therapy while the fire department removed the pipe.
Thanking the fire department for saving her pet, one Facebook user joked about John’s “rise to fame” in a remark left under the station’s post.
One person even said, “I’m not convinced by that face that [she] won’t do it again,” indicating that others saw humor in the situation.
