Five Delicious Addictions College Will Bring

You become free of all the duties and obligations you have been raised with when you move out of your parents’ home. You hopefully arrive at college free of addictions and in good health. It’s fantastic. But no, no! You haven’t had to look for food, pay expenses, or work a full-time job in addition to studying for your eight classes. Nevertheless, you manage to get through the first quarter with courage, shining from the McGyver spirit and making the most of your time away from home with what little you have. You learn to form groups with other kids and go through the trials of your first year of school after making it through the first year.

But as you go about your days and consume all the food at your parent’s place, you reflect back on the terrible decisions you had to make in order to get through those terrible evenings spent working and studying. Let’s discuss their decisions. Let’s talk and find out what kind of (healthy) addictions you developed following your first year of college. Not only are you permanently out of college, but you might also be struggling with these same addictions. However, since we are both present, it shouldn’t matter, right?

Junkie Passwords

You are familiar with the emotion. Your roommate’s Netflix subscription has not been renewed, and the time has run out. You muster up the bravery and strength to inquire about their intention to renew it. As you prepare to approach them, you become aware of how complicated your request is and attempt to convince yourself that you are not in the slightest bit in need of assistance since you have an addiction.

Yes, you are aware of this, but you also discover that you are using other people’s accounts—you’re using someone else’s Spotify, your classmate’s Uber, your partner’s Amazon Prime login, etc.—in addition to Netflix. I understand that you want to save money, but what will happen to you once you graduate from college? I had trouble utilizing my family member’s Netflix account, but after creating and using my own, I was able to enjoy peaceful freedom. You are capable of feeling that same way. Until then, consider starting with your roommate by offering to split the cost of a subscription. Now, baby steps.

Embracing the Pot’s Way

You’re drinking too much. When, after all, must this addiction reach its peak for you to recognize it? I’ll explain. when you’re brewing your second pot of coffee at 9:55 p.m. You convince yourself that you must since the term paper “ain’t gonna write itself,” of course.

However, once you get back in touch with your buddies from back home, there you are, brewing coffee. Your pals can tell you’ve changed just by looking at you. However, they also freely admit to being gluttons when it comes to coffee. After acknowledging their common addiction, the group of adults in the room drink a cup of coffee around 10:00 pm, realizing that they are all capable of making their own decisions, even if they aren’t always wise ones. All of a sudden, everyone knew why there is decaf.

Selective Insomnia

As your lecturer reminds everyone that the huge essay is due tomorrow morning, anxiety seeps into your veins. As your classes end, you dash home and work on paper after paper until, seemingly out of nowhere, you realize it’s three in the morning.

You ask yourself, “How did you do that, in the name of everything good in the world?” As you prepare to head out, your body closes down and you wake up to find your pals messaging and leaving voicemails. Time goes by and you’re attempting to stay up to party with your buddies after work. Despite your best efforts, it seems that your extraordinary capacity to succeed in college was a thing of the past. You no longer need to stay up late, so it’s alright. All your body craves is normalcy. You will eventually need to stay up late again, so don’t worry about it now. For now, just make sure you get to bed at a respectable hour. Since sleep is too important for anyone to lose, this addiction is a little more serious.

Cactus Accessories

Is it because cacti are self-reflective that we can relate to this plant? Have we all come to terms with our dry, prickly, and unyielding natures? I believe so, and there’s no better way to gently convey that thought than with a cactus. Because hustling requires a kind of aggressive approach, we must have a strong inner shell and subsist on the barest necessities till we receive our big break.

You will therefore keep gazing thoughtfully at the little cacti in your office, room, and anywhere else you may have one while you climb to the top. Since collecting cacti cannot be worse than collecting Funko Pops, this addiction is healthy.

Buying at Thrift Stores

Goodwill. There’s one in almost every college town. There’s no better location to find clothing to revamp your wardrobe without breaking the bank. What’s happening, though, is that you’re putting in a lot of overtime and have earned enough cash to get some new outfits. Still, you keep looking through those clothing racks, finding appliances for pennies on the dollar. When you can afford better, why do this? you are aware that you have discovered a shortcut. You can now afford a couple of streaming subscriptions, snacks, and four coffees. Order of importance. For this reason. However, conserving money isn’t always a terrible thing, so this one is probably legitimate.

Now that we’ve explained everything, you can relax knowing that every other college student has experienced similar addictions. But seriously, it could be a good idea to give up coffee at midnight and consider creating your own subscriptions. It’s difficult, I know, but trust me—it’s worthwhile.
