Larry Farrish Jr., a cherished school bus driver in Louisville, Kentucky, has won praise from many for his touching deed of compassion. Farrish Jr. saw that Levi, a small child, was not having a good start to his day. Levi, who was always happy and prepared for school, was sitting on the ground, his jacket pulled over his head.
Farrish Jr. felt obliged to assist after learning that Levi, an Engelhard Elementary first grader, was distressed that he didn’t have pajamas for Pajama Day. “I realized that this needs to be fixed,” Farrish Jr. said.
Farrish Jr. got Levi two pairs of pajamas at a Family Dollar store after finishing his morning routes. After that, he brought them to the school, which made Levi very happy. Farrish Jr. informed him, “I got you these pajamas because you were hurting this morning.” With much excitement, Levi gave the pajamas a firm hug.
Farrish Jr., commonly known as Mr. Larry, has been a bus driver for seven years and feels that this is his true vocation. “I get to develop relationships with the kids. I genuinely adore every second of it,” he remarked.
After Jefferson County Public Schools posted Farrish Jr.’s story on Facebook, the community praised him profusely. “Mr. Larry is the finest person ever. He drove our bus for four years, which we considered a blessing,” a commenter said. “Larry is the best, and the kids know they’re in great, caring hands with him,” said an additional.
